Bridge and quay inspection

bridge inspection bay 3
Deep has been involved in several pilot projects for the inspection of quays and bridges.

The objective was to investigate to what extent it’s possible to determine the accessibility of poles for inspection, based on the results of multi beam data – And if poles appear not to be accessible, how much dredging eventually would be needed.

The work was carried out by a specially equipped survey vessel. The used setup (multi beam echo sounder) was adjusted to an extent that tailored and accurate data could be provided, despite the challenging environment. Simultaneously to the multi beam survey there were made photos and a video recording of the above water situation.

Eventually, these pilot projects will enable governments to decide whether the deployment of new, advanced survey techniques will realize savings in monitoring the quality and repair work of quays and bridges.
