04 Sep Deep is the first company to conduct a remote survey in the Netherlands

In the last couple of months Deeps new Survey Control Room facilitated several multibeam surveys without surveyors on board, using different sized vessels.

The remote surveys were conducted at Borssele, Port of Amsterdam, Eemshaven and Port of IJmuiden. The obtained data was directly transferred to the control room for processing using 4G and satellite connection.

In the first operational stage Deeps Control Room was mainly used for online support of surveyors in the field and immediate QC, which already proved to be a major optimization of our operational performance and quality control. But the ultimate purpose of the Control Room is to offer our clients many possibilities like ad hoc surveys, simultaneous conducted surveys operated by only one survey crew, and multi-purpose use of vessels already available in the field. Besides these unparalleled flexibility advantages it offers a time-saving option to increase efficiency and control costs towards a more sustainable future.

Step by step we will transfer as many as possible tasks from the vessel to the safe working environment of the office. And in same time we will gain on flexibility, continuity, quality, we will reduce risks and ‘last but not least’ we will be able to reduce our carbon footprint with a major step.
