Getting started at Kinderdijk

How often does it happen as a surveyor that you can perform a survey at the place where you were born? Vincent, born and raised in Alblasserdam, had to survey 7 cables and pipelines in Het Achterwaterschap. The purpose of the survey was to verify the required coverage of the pipelines, with the importance of properly identifying the location of the pipelines.

Used here is a flat coverage depth survey with a wide corridor centered on the pipe trajectory. To map the coverage above the pipe, an Innomar parametic echo sounder is used. For these types of surveys, Deep can also use a DOBstar cable/pipe tracker system or determine the burial depth using an air lance.
