Deep is a dynamic and project-driven organization. We use a bespoke fleet of 17 survey vessels with varying sizes for our hydrographic & geophysical projects. Deep is looking for a Vessel Superintendent who keeps our fleet in perfect working condition.
As a Vessel Superintendent you are responsible for a safe, deployable fleet. Your mission is to organize maintenance, repairs and renovations on our boats in such a way that we can depend on optimal deployment on projects at any time. In addition to the maintenance program, you will be responsible for managing and keeping inspections, certificates and safety equipment up-to-date and manage purchases with our suppliers.
The person we are looking for, is a self-starter with a hands-on mentality. You are involved, you see what needs to be done and make sure that it gets done. You bring structure to a flexible environment, you provide follow-up, monitoring and feedback to the people who ask for your support. You have strong communication skills and have a high service standard, both internally and externally with our suppliers and contract partners.
You will assist in managing further structuring of the administrative processes within the Technical Department and provide a clear overview of operational readiness of all Deep vessels. You arrange surveys with classification authorities and maintain the fleet up to the respective class standards.
We are looking for someone who has gained relevant working experience in the Maritime Industry. Your technical know-how enables you to talk substantively with various specialists in the maritime world. You have the following qualifications and skills:
- Higher Vocational Education (HTS/HBO);
- Substantial experience in managing a fleet of vessels;
- Knowledge of fleet management systems;
- Experience with carrying out repairs and dockings;
- Proven project management skills;
- Able to work independently as well as in a team;
- Ambition to contribute to sustainability;
- Good command of the English and Dutch language;
- Live or want to live in the Netherlands at commuting distance from Amsterdam;
- Prepared to work outside office hours and office location when needed;
- Available for 32-40 hours a week.
