Vacancies: Project Surveyor - Deep Hydrografie en Geofysica

As a Project Surveyor you will be part of one of the four project management teams within Deep. Together with the Project Manager and Team Leader Data Processing you will be responsible for all operational/field related aspects of the projects.


In this office-based position you collaborate with colleagues as part of a (project) team but you also feel comfortable working independently without supervision. You are the first point of contact for our (field) surveyors with regards to specific survey project questions.


You will act as a point of contact for our clients regarding all operational related matters and you will manage and support the teams in the field working on your projects.


Deep’s ambition is to be a planet proof, sustainable survey company. In this role you will report to the Project Manager and work with the other Deepers to create a sustainable future for Deep.


Your responsibilities and tasks are:


  • Liaise with other project management members and clients to understand and define project specific requirements and deliverables
  • Coordinate with the team leader processing to ensure the acquired data is according to specifications, well organized and executed according to best practices
  • Assess and allocate required resources to enable timely data acquisition and delivery
  • Coordinate the solving of survey technical problems and/or improvements in collaboration with the Technical Department and surveyors
  • Co-ordinate changes in contract scope effecting field operations
  • Oversee field team safety, performance and well-being during projects
  • Actively seek continuous improvement of survey technical aspect
  • Together with the Technical Department you are responsible for an up-to-date equipment pool

For this role we are looking for someone with the following skills and competences:


  • Extensive and proven experience with Hydrography/Geophysics and the maritime industry
  • Effective communication skills
  • Self-motivated and directed, requiring little or no direct guidance from other project team members
  • Interpersonal skills to interface with the project team as well as the client
  • Excellent planning skills, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Highly organized, with problem resolution and analytical skills
  • Flexible and available for occasional weekend and evening work
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal
  • You live, or want to live, in the Netherlands at commuting distance from Amsterdam
  • You have an EU-residency/work permit, or possibility to obtain a permit
  • Available for 0,8-1,0 FTE (32-40 hours working week).
