REMOTE SUPPORT ENGINEER

Deep BV is formed by a close group of more than 80 professionals who are highly motivated to go the extra mile for every client in delivering the best data possible. We are looking for a Remote Support Engineer to join our team.

WHAT WILL BE YOUR ROLE

As a Remote Support Engineer working within Deep you will provide survey technical support to the field teams. You will improve project productivity by reducing operational downtime caused by survey technical issues and you will help educating junior surveyors.

 

You will also play a big role in Deep’s technical development when it comes to survey knowledge and new techniques such as remote operated survey vessels.

 

Deep’s field of work includes offshore marine zones and inland waterways around the world. As Remote Support Engineer, you can work from the Deep office in Amsterdam and from home. The Support Room is operational 7 days a week. You will be working in rotating shifts, including weekends.

 

Your responsibilities and tasks are:

 

  • Provide survey technical support to field teams;
  • Educate field staff by providing knowledge and know-how;
  • Improve survey setups/workflows, by applying known issues;
  • Optimize remote accessibility of the survey vessels;
  • Keep internal survey technical documentation up to date;
  • Be involved in the development of remote and autonomous survey methods;
  • Assist with execution of remote and autonomous surveys;
  • Research/test new survey equipment to help keep the Deep survey equipment pool up to date.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

For this role we are looking for someone with the following skills and competences:

 

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in a relevant field;
  • 5+ years of experience as hydrographic surveyor;
  • Knowledge of, and experience with GNSS, MBES, SSS, SBP, USBL, MRU;
  • Experienced with QPS Qinsy survey software;
  • Pro-active and has a practical mindset;
  • Professional, solution-oriented attitude;
  • Empowers others to grow, and challenges themselves to improve.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal;
  • You live, or want to live, in the Netherlands;
  • In possession of an EU-residency/work permit.
